Today marks 6 years since I had my Brain aneusyrm surgery. It’s hard to believe that so much time has already passed. It just goes to show that time passes and things that are epic and huge soon become memories.
How it started: In August 2019 , I started having persistant headaches. I had a solid week of consistant intense headache. Nothing helped! I was referred to a neurologist.
One day, I was working with someone who told me about their experience with having a brain aneursym. I really didn’t think much about it at the time. Later on I was reminded that a family member has one. As soon as I told my doctor, she ordered more testing.
My first test was an MRA. This is a specific test that looks at blood vessals. It revealed that I had two brain aneursyms behind my right eye. The day I found out that I had them, I was working with the same person I had talked about brain aneurysms a couple weeks beforehand. I also had an angiogram which confirmed and gave a better picture of them.
When I met with the neurosurgeon, I was presented with two options. Wait and see or do the surgery. At this point, my neurosurgeon said either one would work. This surgery would place a piple line stent in my artery. This would block the blood flow to the aneurysms.

I absolutely had to pick the surgery. Why? The stress of having headaches and wondering if it was my aneurysms exploading would be worse than having a surgery. The two weeks leading up to the surgery was quite stressful. I continued to have headaches and the potential for the aneurysm to expload was always on my mind.
Even though i knew without a shadow of a doubt that the Lord would take care fo me, I will admit that I had many moments of stress, freaking out and worry. It was a daily give my worries and stress to the Lord. It wasn’t easy at times. I am so thankful for my family and friends who prayed for me and supported me in this adventure.
I am thankful for the prayers and help from my family and friends. Prayer is so powerful and I felt it.
The surgery went well was no complications. I was thankful that I was asleep when they put the IV in my hand. A family friend who was working that day stopped by the recovery room to check in on me. I had to stay at the hospital for a night for monitoring. They came and did a neurological tesIt on me every single hour. Thankfully, I passed with flying colors! I was able to go home the next day!
I was surprised how fast the aneusryms died. It didn’t even take a full year! My recovery was well and I had no complications. ๐
Today, I look back at this adventure and am thankful. That random conversation? Not so random but a conversation that clearly was directed by the Lord.
