Visit historic American landmarks through the Doors to the Past series. History and today collide in stories full of mystery, intrigue, faith, and romance.
Clara Blackwell helps her mother manage a struggling one-hundred-year old family bookshop in Asheville, North Carolina, but the discovery of a forgotten letter opens a mystery of a long-lost romance and undiscovered inheritance which could save its future. Forced to step outside of her predictable world, Clara embarks on an adventure with only the name Oliver as a hint of the man’s identity in her great-great-grandmother’s letter. From the nearby grand estate of the Vanderbilts, to a hamlet in Derbyshire, England, Clara seeks to uncover truth about family and love that may lead to her own unexpected romance.

My Review
This was such a fun book to read! I absolutely love how books and reading were the center of this story and everything revolved around it. Hope between the Pages is a split time novel that set in 1915 and the present day. It switches back and forth between Clara and Sadie. It’s easy to tell who’s story I am reading. I liked both of them. Clara owns a bookstore and Sadie works in a library for the Vanderbilts. It’s magical and a perfect job for a book lover. I like how both stories intertwine throughout the story. t’s a perfect blend of mystery and romance that kept my attention. I liked how Pepper Basham weaved the Lord’s truth throughout the story. I liked how the characters grew and changed as well.
I really must talk about how many quotable book quotes are in this story. It’s really cool! I’ve highlighted a couple that really stood out.
“Any story that begins with a library is bound to be an excellent tale.” – Sadie’s mom
“George used to say that stories carry their own special magic every time you turn a page.”- Mrs. Vanderbilt
This story perfectly captures the magic and joy a reader gets when they hold a book in their hands.
I recommend this book to my family and friends.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the publisher. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

I absolutely loved this book! It is by far the best book I have read in a long time. It really resonated with me. I had read an ebook version and when I finished I knew I had to own a physical copy, so I immediately ordered one! I also did a blog post on the book: https://encounterswiththedavisfamily.blogspot.com/2021/03/hope-between-pages.html
