My Review

Set in Pittsburgh, during the prohibition this story takes you deep into the heart of the speakeasies. I haven’t read as many prohibition stories so some of the lingo I wasn’t as familiar with. That didn’t deter from the wonderful story as I felt like I was right there with Mick and Vera.
It kept me reading until the end. I liked Vera’s spunkiness an determination. Even though times got tough, she stood her ground. She and Mick’s relationship was fun to watch. Both of them were headstrong and stubborn. The lessons of forgiveness and second chances are weaved throughout the story.

I recommend this book to my family and friends.
