Out of the Ordinary by Jen Turano

OutoftheOrdinary_mck.inddMiss Gertrude Cadwalader hoped her position as the paid companion to Mrs. Davenport would be easy. But as she becomes acquainted with her employer, she realizes the wealthy Mrs. Davenport has a strange tendency to be a bit light-fingered with other people’s trinkets. Gertrude is relieved when Mrs. Davenport decides to have a quiet summer away from the social scene–until the woman changes her mind in order to help a young socialite launch into society.  When Gertrude is caught in the act of trying to return one of the trinkets by Mrs. Sinclair, the mother of shipping magnate Harrison Sinclair, the woman jumps to an unfortunate conclusion. Harrison is determined to mend fences with Miss Cadwalader, but he’s unprepared for the escapades a friendship with her will entail.

My Review:

I met Jen Turano this summer at the Christian Fiction Reader’s Retreat. She is such a fun person to talk to!  I enjoyed listening to her talk about her books. It gave me a different perspective on her stories and the character’s she is writing about. Out of the Ordinary is a delightfully fun story to read. I smiled and giggled through the whole book. It was hard to put down!  Jen Turano has a way of taking ordinary events and turning them into memorable experiences. The bustle scene was one of my favorites! I especially loved all of the character’s. Each person had  such fun personalities that it was hard to pick a favorite. I liked how Jen Turano presented the Lord’s truth of forgiviessness in way that the character and the reader can learn from it.

I recommend this book to my family and friends.

I received this book from the publisher to give my honest review.
