The Five Times I Met Myself by James Rubart

Amazon Review:

What if you met your twenty-three-year-old self in a dream? What would you say?

Brock Matthews’ once promising life is unraveling. His coffee company. His marriage. So when he discovers his vivid dreams—where he encounters his younger self—might let him change his past mistakes, he jumps at the chance. The results are astonishing, but also disturbing. Because getting what Brock wants most in the world will force him to give up the one thing he doesn’t know how to let go . . . and his greatest fear is that it’s already too late.

My Review:

Once again, James Rubart has written one of those books you can’t put down.  I read it in two days. I found myself drawn into Brock’s story and wondering along with him what will happen next. He thinks he is fixing everything and yet it is becoming a bigger mess then he thought. Although we can’t change the past, we can change the future. We can get a second chance through Jesus.  I liked how the author weaves Biblical truth throughout this story. He creates an story that is entertaining and thought provoking at the same time.  Although, this book is fiction, I found myself thinking about my life and the second chances God gives me.

I highly recommend this book to others.

  1. So glad you liked it, Becca! It was one of the most fun novels I’ve written so far, and yet there was a somber sense as I wrote it, as I truly hope it can set people free from their past.
