My Review:
I have never been fond of Gothic Romance novels as they tend to be darker then I like. I have always liked Sandra Byrd’s book so I was happy to read her latest book.
I found that she did a good job making the story and the situation gloomy throughout the series. There were a few cheerful moments though. She does a good job creating a story that will interest you to the end. Her character’s were believable. I despised Edward and his cunning ways. I wanted to smack him on the head! I cheered and felt sad for Annabel and her situation. The norm was the father or cousin or husband was completely in control and women had no say. It’s hard being from modern times to truly understand the situation. Sandra did a great job accurately portraying the time period.
I did not like this story as well as some of her other books. I know though that other readers love this style of book and will enjoy her story.
